I must admit I only visit the local Health Store on the odd occasion that I feel the need to buy my nutritional supplements that add as a top up to my diet. The other day I had a little more time to look around and was surprised at the vast array of goods on offer.
They appeared to stock everything from the usual Vitamin capsules to really unusual items which are for weight management and dietary complaints.
I noticed some Chili Burn tablets which contains all natural ingredients, such as green tea, chili, ginger and dill. These are said to reduce fat without any side effects and it’s also meant to increase metabolism.
Another product which caught my eye was Natural Tree Syrup which is meant to combine several different palm syrups and maple syrups that have a high mineral content and are low in sugar. This is said to provide the best balance of essential nutrients and minerals.
Last but not least, displayed prominently by the till on the way out there were bottles of hand sanitizers.
Things have changed over the recent months as far as hygiene is concerned and a great deal of this is due to the outbreak of swine flu.
A majority of health establishments and also a great deal of the workplaces nowadays have some sort of hand sanitizer machines placed at strategic points throughout the buildings.
These are waterless products and claim to eliminate 99.9 per cent!
Reading about the way in which these products work it seems that they actually strip away the outer layer of oil on the skin.
It is usually advised that in the case of procedures as regards the handling of food that hand sanitizers should be used as an adjunct and not in place of soap and water.
I noticed that several people were adding these to their baskets on the way out and I would imagine that these products will remain on our shopping list at least until the swine flu scare is over.
